National Bunsen Burner Day

March 31st is the day to celebrate the birthday of German chemist Robert Wilhelm Eberhard von Bunsen, who invented the Bunsen Burner.


Bunsen burner is one of the essential laboratory equipment that is used all over the world. The purpose of this equipment is to heat and combust substances and to even sterilize other laboratory equipment with open flame. The flame is controlled by adjusting the amount of gas.


The hottest part of the flame can reach up to 1,500 ℃, which is extremely hot.


The Bunsen Burner is still widely used today in many laboratories due to its simplicity and easy of use.
